Day 1 Recap: Football Access Summit

The Football Access Summit kicked off with an insightful panel discussion featuring our Founder and Managing Partner Hani Zahran alongside Jacques Blondin; Former Head of TMS & Regulatory Enforcement at FIFA and Partner at SP.IN Law Firm, Gregory Shields; Professor of Sports Business at
Geneva Business School, Amir Tawfik; CEO of Al Ahly Football Company and the Moderator Hani Hathout.

The panel explored “RSTP: The Consequences of Lassana Diarra’s Case on the Football Transfer System,”. Key topics discussed including but not limited to player contract termination, transfer regulations, player mobility, and compliance with European labor laws, as upheld by the European Court of Justice.

The discussion revolved around the probability of FIFA taking steps to balance the interests of clubs and players by working with stakeholders to develop new transfer regulations.
